Incorez Ltd and REACH compliance

In June 2007, the EU Commission enforced the regulations for the Registration Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals (REACH). Incorez Ltd has been active through the set up and monitoring of an internal committee to ensure that steps have been taken to ensure that both products manufactured and raw materials supplied to the company will be fully compliant with REACH.

Products Manufactured by Incorez Ltd

Incorez Ltd are a speciality manufacturer of chemical products for use in coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers. The product ranges include both polymeric and non-polymeric (substances) materials as defined under the REACH legislation.

a) Polymeric Products

All Polymeric products manufactured by Incorez Ltd are confirmed EXEMPT from REACH regulation in accordance with the REACH definition for a polymer under Article 3 Part 5 and required no registration according to Article 2 Part 9. Incorez product ranges that are exempt are:

Incorez 140 series of water based epoxy hardeners (142/148 products)
Incorez 700 series of polyurethane prepolymers
Incorez 900 series of polyurethane prepolymers
Incorez W830 and W835 series of polyurethane dispersions
Incorez W2000 and W2005 series of polyurethane-acrylic dispersions
Incorad series of uv-curable polyurethane dispersions
Incosoft series of soft feel polyurethane dispersions

Uses and Exposures of Incorez Polymers

Although REACH regulation does not take uses for polymers into account, a chemical safety assessment is not required for polymers and no extended safety data sheets will be created. However, as a responsible manufacturer we will provide actualised safety data sheets for each of our products as before.

b) Non-Polymer Products (Substances)

Incorez Ltd manufactures a number of products defined as substances under REACH definition article 3 part 1. The following products are affected:

Incozol 2
Incozol 3
Incozol 4
Incozol HP
Incozol LV
Incozol CF
Incozol NC
Incozol K
Incorez 501

For each substance steps have been taken to ensure compliance under REACH. Full registration dossiers will be completed in accordance to REACH timeline requirements for each product.

Uses of Incozol and Incorez 501 Products (Substances)

As a recognised manufacturer of chemical products, Incorez Ltd will register all Incozol grades and Incorez 501 for the range of relevant downstream uses in accordance with definitions of CEPE, FEICA and the Construction Chemical Association.

Incorez Ltd will inform on the status of substances with registration deadline 2013 or 2018 at a later stage.

Thank you for your understanding that we are not in the position to complete any questionnaires or online databases regarding this subject for the time being.

Incorez Ltd will also ensure that new product developments will be covered under REACH requirements and work is on-going to ensure that recently developed new substances are being registered to conform to REACH legislation.

Raw Materials

As a responsible manufacturer, Incorez Ltd has contacted all its raw material suppliers to ascertain their commitment to REACH. All suppliers have responded to the Logistics Department confirming that all materials, including monomers, have been pre-registered. We are currently receiving confirmations regarding downstream users and will continue to actively monitor that raw materials will be fully registered in compliance with REACH regulations. Whilst we do not anticipate any supply difficulties we will endeavour to keep our customers informed of any on-going changes as they are reported to Incorez Ltd.
