New website launch

Incorez are pleased to announce the launch of their new website.

Alongside a detailed Product information section, visitors can now also browse an Applications section that outlines some of the more successful application areas for Incorez products.

The ever popular Technical Centre has been redesigned but still retains a comprehensive selection of datasheets, brochures and technical articles.

In addition, visitors can preview and download a selection of Case Studies based on customer projects.

Incorez celebrates 25 years

Whilst most eyes were on the FIFA World Cup finals during 1986, a small but significant decision was made by two people that initiated the founding of Incorez Ltd.

The owner of Liquid Plastics Ltd., Lionel Gorick and his then R&D Manager, Len Daniels, discussed the formation of a company that would begin its life by servicing the needs of the family coatings company (Liquid Plastics Ltd), in particular manufacturing key raw materials. The Gorick family were well versed in setting up new businesses, already owning three companies, one of which was situated in Belgium (Pentagon Plastics).

The company was initially named Industrial Copolymers Ltd and its claim to fame was the introduction of a new waterbased hardener for epoxy paints.

New oxazolidine curing agent

Incozol EH is a bis-oxazolidine curing agent for use in 1K polyurethane coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers.

Used in conjunction with a low NCO prepolymer, this curing agent accelerates the cure of the prepolymer through a moisture triggered mechanism to afford crosslinking benefits to the 1K urethane. In addition, it enhances properties such as through cure development and mechanical strength through the elimination of carbon dioxide gassing in high-build, high solids systems.

Case Study: Oxazolidine latent hardeners in flooring & balcony systems

The use of 1K PU systems in flooring and balcony applications does have its advantages over 2K alternatives. The reasons for choosing 1K systems are two fold. Firstly, there is only one container with the product already mixed (PU prepolymer + oxazolidine). Having two components (PU prepolymer + polyol) on site that require mixing, could lead to problems achieving the correct mix ratio.

Secondly, with 1K moisture triggered systems, the curing reaction only takes place once the film is applied and comes into contact with atmospheric moisture. Because of this, the issues associated with potlife that affect 2K systems are not applicable.
