Incorez is pleased to announce the launch of Incozol® 341 LV, a new low viscosity reactive diluent designed to help polyurethane formulators meet the growing demands for lower VOC, higher solids and improved surface quality - without compromising application or performance.
Developed for 2K polyurethane coatings and sealants, Incozol® 341 LV enables formulators to reduce or eliminate traditional solvents while maintaining low viscosity, excellent flow and robust real world application performance.

Meeting Today’s Formulation Challenges
Polyurethane formulators are under increasing pressure to reduce VOC emissions, increase solids content and maintain smooth, defect‑free finishes - often under less‑than‑ideal application conditions. At the same time, viscosity must remain low enough to allow existing spray equipment and processes to be used without modification.
Incozol®‑341 LV was developed specifically to address these challenges. By partially replacing the polyol component, it significantly reduces formulation viscosity while becoming chemically incorporated into the cured polyurethane network. The result is better flow, better finish and more reliable application, even in humid or variable conditions.
How Incozol®‑341 LV Works
Unlike inert solvents, Incozol®‑341 LV is a reactive diluent with a very low viscosity (approximately 75–80 cP at 20 °C). During
curing, it participates directly in the polyurethane reaction rather than evaporating from the film.
A key advantage of Incozol®‑341 LV is its preferential reaction with moisture. In conventional PU systems, atmospheric moisture reacts
with isocyanates to generate CO₂, leading to pinholes, bubbling and surface defects. Incozol®‑341 LV reacts with moisture first, reducing CO₂ formation and helping to deliver smooth, consistent finishes.
Performance Benefits for Formulators
Incozol®‑341 LV delivers a combination of formulation and performance benefits:
- Enables high‑solids, low‑VOC systems by reducing viscosity without increasing solvent content
- Defect‑free film formation, minimising pinholes, bubbling and craters caused by CO₂ during cure
- Moisture‑tolerant performance, supporting reliable curing and appearance in humid conditions
- No performance trade‑off, as the reactive diluent becomes part of the polymer network
- Improved early hardness development and scratch resistance compared with earlier reactive diluents
- No investment required, working with existing equipment and established PU formulations
Typical Application Areas
Incozol®‑341 LV is suitable for a wide range of polyurethane applications, including:
Industrial and protective coatings
Flooring and architectural coatings
Automotive and transportation coatings
Marine and civil engineering systems
A Practical Upgrade for Modern PU Formulations
With regulatory pressure continuing to drive solvent reduction, Incozol®‑341 LV offers formulators a simple, drop‑in solution to upgrade existing polyurethane systems. By reducing viscosity, improving surface quality and enhancing robustness under real‑world conditions, it supports the development of next‑generation high‑performance, low‑VOC PU systems.
